Life and legacy of Billy Roscoe Charles Harris Senior

Our chain is broken. We didn’t know that morning that God was to call your name. In life, we loved you dearly. In death, it’s the same. It broke our hearts to lose you. Daddy, you didn’t go alone. Parts of us went with you the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories. Your love is still our guide. Though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same. However, as God calls us one by one, we will link our chain again. We love you with all our heart and soul, Daddy.

Billy Roscoe Charles Harris Senior was born June 7, 1935 to Roscoe and Annie Ola Harvey in Minden, Louisiana. God blessed this union with 16 children, six brothers and eight sisters. Billy was the 13th child. He leaves behind two living sisters, Ola Mae Alexander and Nellie Estelle Akoni. All other siblings are deceased. He attended Webster High School. He moved to Dallas, Texas in 1951. He moved to Los Angeles, California in 1952. On April 10, 1954 , he married Janice Arlene Tullis. This year, they celebrated 72 years of marriage. God blessed their union with three children: Billy Charles Harris Jr, Anthony Vondell Harris, and Monique Delean Harris. Billy worked at Tapping Stove Company for eight years. He worked at DNJ Rubbish Company in Downey, California for five years. He also ran B Bills Productions for two years. On June 7, 2026, he would have turned 91 years old.

In November of 1984, the family joined Central Baptist Church. They moved from Ladera Height, California to Las Vegas in 2016. They joined Victory Baptist Church in 2023, where they attended until his passing. Billy found Christ and confessed his love for God. He regularly attended every Sunday service, until his health failed. He persevered through four years of in-home hospice care. His family, wife and loved ones, took care of him until he transitioned peacefully on May 3, 2026, a Sunday, at 4 o’clock p.m. He was pronounced at peace, gone home to be with the Lord.

Today is his birthday, the day he came into the world, and now we are celebrating his going out.

Billy, I love you with all my heart and soul. My love for you will always be from the beginning until eternity. You are my dearest husband, my best friend. My heart finds peace knowing that you were cared for until the end and now are safely in God's hands.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Janice Arlene Harris, oldest son Billy Charles Harris, Jr and wife, Hyacinth Harris, Anthony Vondell, Harris and wife, Anisa and his only daughter, Monique Delene Harris-Whitt and husband Trevail Whitt, 11 grand children, 17 great-great grandchildren, 8 great- great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and a host of other friends and family.
