Douglas Leroy Williams Jr., a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, and dedicated U.S. Army veteran. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Douglas, better known as “DJ” entered this world on July 23, 1981, and gained his wings on August 17, 2025. He lived a life of service, courage, and honor.
Dj excelled at anything he put his mind too. He graduated from Western High School, where he was known for his athleticism, hard work, and humorist spirit. His passion for serving his country was evident, and a year into college, he enlisted in the United States Army.
Throughout his military career, Dj earned the admiration and respect of his peers and superiors alike, demonstrating unwavering bravery and commitment during his tours of duty. His dedication was evident in every mission he undertook, and his valor will never be forgotten.
Outside of his military life, Dj was known for his kindness, loyalty, and infectious sense of humor. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcomed and like family. His laughter, his generous spirit, and the way he supported his friends and family will leave a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Dj leaves behind a legacy of love and service. He is survived by his father, Douglas Leroy Williams Sr., his aunt and uncle Debra Williams-Edward & Galvin Edward, his stepson, Deatrick Perkins Jr., loving sisters, Domeka Harris, Kimberly Davison, and Javanae McCoy. He was a cherished uncle to Meyani, Bryce, Darrell Jr., Christian, Karis and Natalie. Dj also leaves behind his cousins more like sisters, Levona Williams & Prisha Edward. He is proceeded in death by his mother, Jeanie Lois McCoy and wife Nekesia Williams. His loss is deeply felt by countless friends, extended family and fellow service members.
Though Dj’s life was cut short, his memory will live on through the stories, the love, and the gratitude of those who knew him.
