Edward Allen Elkins, 37, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025. Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1988, Edward built a distinguished career as a Lighting Network Technician with Solotech in Las Vegas, where he worked since December 2021. Prior to Solotech, he worked with Encore AV Rentals & Production.
Edward was a master of his craft, planning and installing complex lighting networks for concerts and large-scale productions. He expertly integrated intelligent fixtures, media servers, and control consoles, and was known for his technical precision and dedication to mentoring other technicians. His work behind the scenes helped bring countless spectacular shows to life on Las Vegas stages.
A bit introverted and a homebody at heart, Edward found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved riding his motorcycle, playing video games, watching YouTube videos, and cooking. Those close to him will forever remember his spot-on Shannon Sharpe impersonations that never failed to bring laughter. Edward dabbled in music production early in life before finding his true calling in lighting technology. Edward had a gentle nature and faced a courageous battle with alcoholism. Throughout his struggles, he was blessed with unwavering love and support from his family.
Edward was preceded in death by his father, Edward Warren Elkins, in 2006, and his sister, Nila Elkins, in July 2025. He is survived by his mother, Janice Ann Elkins; his siblings, Ayanna Thomas and Oran Turner; his sister-in-law, Seana Porter; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
