Story of Marva L. McCall

Marva L. McCall was a caring mother, sister and wife. She left her earthly body on March 28, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she resided. She was born to Mary Ann Snowden and George Johnson in LaPlace, Louisiana on September 13, 1937.

Marva is survived by one son Charles McCall and wife Regina of Las Vegas, Nevada; one daughter: Karen McCall of Las Vegas, Nevada; one brother: Kristopher Snowden and wife Lorraine of Mountain House of California; one brother-in-law: Mosie Hill of San Jose, California; two sisters-in-law: Leberta Henson and Glenn E Smith from Las Vegas, Nevada; five brothers-in-law: Clarence McCall, Sr. of Delhi, Louisiana, Edward McCall of Las Vegas, Nevada, LeVarn McCall and wife Dorothy of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dee Lawrence McCall, Sr. and wife Doneita of Delhi, Louisiana and Roosevelt Marshall and wife Sandra of Rayville, Louisiana and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Samuel L. McCall, Jr. and her parents Mary Ann Snowden and George Johnson; mother and father-in-law: Samuel and Rilla Mae McCall, Sr; one sister: Karla Hill; three sisters-in-laws: Arlone Pascale, Laurella Henson and Vernece Marshall; one god-sister: Betty Whaley-Field.

Marva moved to Las Vegas when she was very young and attended the Westside School and Las Vegas High School. She lived in Las Vegas for over 50 years.  In 2000, she and Sam moved to Delhi, Louisiana for 17 years and Marva returned to Las Vegas for the past five years of her life after Sam passed away.

Marva gave her life to Jesus Christ at a very young age. Marva was a kind-hearted and giving person who was always available to provide a word or two of wisdom.  Marva’s wit made her a delight to be around and she left people feeling better and believing they can achieve the goals they set for themselves.

Marva will be laid to rest at the St. Johns Community Cemetery in Delhi, Louisiana with her husband, her mother, father-in-law, mother-in-law and a host of other family members who preceded her.
