Michael Dean Williams

April 8, 1952 — April 7, 2026

Michael was the eldest son of Emanuel and Florence Williams born in Pittsburg CA. He grew up in Los Angeles CA. At the early age of 9 Michael accepted Christ and knew his calling because of the teaching and well-explained Christian education received in vacation Bible school, Sunday school, and sanctuary service. Michael knew his destiny was to preach and spread the gospel. Not just to those that entered the sanctuary but to those who were lost, homeless, or living outside the will of God. When he and his siblings played church he was always the minister and prepared real sermons. He was just that serious.

In 1979 on his way to a job in Texas he stopped by Las Vegas to visit his sister for 2 weeks and never left. Years later it was here in Las Vegas that he took his Seminary Studies and 2 years later became a bonafide, ordained, licensed minister with guidance from his friend Pastor J Gilmore. He wanted to do it right. He said it was his duty to be everything that God wanted and to minister to his people. Rev. Mike felt that the real ministry was outside the church walls doing outreach ministry. To get them saved and through the doors of the church was the goal. Then the pulpit and the fellowship of the congregation would help them grow in their faithwalk. Rev. Mike also held programs at senior housing complexes for those that couldn't get out due to their health and transportation issues. So he took the gospel to them.

Rev. Mike was the founder of 'God Cares We Care Street Ministries'. The ministry was organized on January 10, 2002 to assist many with housing, jobs, homelessness, health concerns, school placement, mental health, counseling, Veterans affairs, food stamps, rental assistance and other concerns.

Rev. Mike was an advocate for seniors and spent much time at the Law Library gathering information and speaking with attorneys to do Pro Bono work to help seniors. He liked cooking and fed many. When he held programs he fed them well, not just sandwiches and cookies. He cooked full nourishing meals. He said you get more attention when the people aren't hungry. They kept coming back whenever he had a program.

Matthew 25:37-40: Identifies serving the hungry, thirsty, naked, sick, or imprisoned as serving Jesus directly. 1 John 3:18: Encourages showing love through actions and truth, not just words. Isaiah 1:17: Calls on believers to seek justice, defend the oppressed, and care for the vulnerable. Personal StatementRemember my Loud Laughter. My fellowship. My generosity and, mostly, my faith in God. Survivors: Brother Jerome Williams, sister Dianna Jones, Nephew Boyce Strothers, Niece Kathleen Eakins, Lea Shapiro, Boris Shapiro and a host of cousins and great-nieces and nephews.
