Patricia Ann Sisk was born in Goshen, New York, to the late Lawrence Herbert Peterson and the late Frances Eleanor (Weaver) Peterson. Patricia was baptized at an early age and attended Bethany United Presbyterian Church in Washingtonville, New York, under the leadership of Rev. Ellis E. Gregg.
Patricia attended Washingtonville Central School District from Kindergarten to 12 grade and graduated in 1967. She loved sports and played soccer, basketball, softball, track and volleyball. She was a Brownie and in Girl Scouts. As a teen Pat played drums with Monroe Drum and Bugle Corps in the town of Monroe, New York. Pat fell in love with Lorenzo Sisk from Highland Falls, New York and were married December 2, 1967, by Rev. Ellis E. Gregg. To this union was born two beautiful daughters, Melissa and Danielle (deceased 2/22/2022).
Patricia went right to work at Marine Midland Bank in Highland Falls, New York, in the Bookkeeping Department. Later she was employed by the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York as Laundress at the West Point Laundry. Patricia was offered a position with Tri-State Service Company. She worked her way up to supervisor in the dry-cleaning department. In a letter from the ECR, Vice-President said, “You have a very special gift, which is being a true leader of people” and “you lead by example through your hard work.” She worked for ARA Leisure Services at the Bear Mountain Concessions for a few years. On 10/17/1977, Pat and Lorenzo and her mom and dad became owners of the Four Aces Restaurant in Washingtonville, New York and The Other Place Restaurant in Campbell Hall, New York. In 1989 she relocated to Las Vegas, NV where she was hired as assistant manager at Al Phillips The Cleaner. Pat was promoted to store manager where she was store manager at several locations throughout the city.
Patricia joined Victory Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Robert E. Fowler Sr. She and Lorenzo were baptized together by Rev. Charles Smith. Pat was a faithful member and attended bible study and 9:45 am service. Pat joined the Feeding Ministry, Baptism Reception, New Members Reception and Bereavement Ministry. Pat was not able to attend church under the leadership of Pastor Sean A. Taylor, her health made it impossible, but she watched Sunday service and mid-week service online.
Patricia was blessed to see another wedding anniversary, 55 years, while in the hospital. Pastor Sean Taylor and his lovely wife, Cecelia Taylor, officiated the renewal of their vows. Patricia enjoyed cooking, barbecuing, making pies from scratch, traveling, reading, watching Young & the Restless, gardening, the outdoors, her early years camping. But most of all spending time with family and friends. She would make sure she would call them all at least once a week. Her grandson and great granddaughters would always keep a smile on her face and make her laugh.
Patricia departed and transitioned from this life to her heavenly home on Monday, February 20, 2023. Left to cherish her memory her husband, Lorenzo Sisk; daughter Melissa Sisk; grandchildren David Lorenzo Freeman and Dihna Cruz; great grandchildren Dani and Demi Freeman; three sister in laws, Bernadette Sisk of Las Vegas, NV, Shaunille Sisk of Chicago, IL, Sonia Sisk Diggs (William) of Lexington, SC; and brother in law William Sisk (Jackie) of Vernonia, Oregon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Frances Eleanor (Weaver) Peterson, father Lawrence Herbert Peterson of Washingtonville, NY; brother Frederick Lawrence Peterson of Washingtonville, NY; aunts Irene Wilson of Washingtonville, NY, Mildred Cooper of Campbell Hall, NY, Anna Duncan of Goshen, NY, Henrietta Hawkins, Christine Tonic and Frances Peterson all of Washingtonville, NY; uncles Harold Weaver of Washingtonville, NY, Walter Weaver of Washingtonville, NY, Alfred Weaver of Middletown, NY and Howard Weaver of Maybrook, NY; grandparents Eusebio and Florence Weaver, Herbert and Elsie Peterson all of Washingtonville, NY.
