Patrick Lamont Ward, affectionately known to many as “Sweet P,” was born on January 25, 1968, in Las Vegas, Nevada. A lifelong resident of Las Vegas, Patrick entered eternal rest on January 10, 2026, at the age of 57.
Patrick was a devoted son, partner, uncle, cousin, and friend whose presence brought light and joy to everyone he encountered. He was born and raised in Las Vegas, a city he proudly called home throughout his life. He attended and graduated from Western High School as a proud Warrior. Patrick worked as a security guard, a role that reflected his protective nature and his desire to look out for others.
A man of faith, Patrick gave his life to the Lord and lived with a Christian heart. He believed deeply in kindness, compassion, and helping others, and he carried those values into every relationship. Patrick truly loved people. He found happiness in spending time with family, listening to music, sharing laughter, and making new friends wherever he went.
Patrick will be remembered most for his infectious laughter, his kind heart, his humorous jokes, and his uplifting spirit. He had a special way of encouraging those around him and was always willing to help anyone in need. His selflessness and joyful personality made him a blessing to all who knew him.
Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Kenny White; beloved grandmother, Nadine Brown; his uncles, Freddie Ward, Major Boyd, and Robert Jackson; and his aunts, Patsy Redmond, Charline Jackson, and Carolyn Jackson.
He is lovingly remembered and survived by his parents, Flossie Layne-Watson (Rufus Watson); his sibling, Dynull Layne; his devoted partner, Cynthia Baugh; his cherished nephews, DeAndre Tyler, James Alexander III, and niece Tiffany Trotter; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; very close first cousins; his living aunts, Fernetta Jackson, Vivian Roberts, and Recita Brown; and his living uncle, Howard Ward.
Though Patrick had no children of his own, his love and guidance extended far beyond bloodlines, touching countless lives. Patrick Lamont Ward leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, faith, and kindness. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
