Robert Lepoleon Leak, affectionately known to family and friends as Robert, was born in Hamlet, North Carolina, to the late Napoleon Leak and Hattie Leak. From the beginning of his life until the very end, Robert’s journey was one of faith, service, and love.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army for 22 years, retiring honorably from Fort Bragg, North Carolina. His time in service reflected his dedication, courage, and steadfast commitment to duty. After his military career, Robert made Las Vegas, Nevada, his home, where he became a mentor and father figure to many young men. His wisdom, integrity, and godly example shaped countless lives.
Robert was a devoted family man, a true patriarch who loved and provided for his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Napoleon and Hattie Leak. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his son, Roderick Leopold Leak; his wife, Sharon Kay Leak; Gail M. Leak; his sister, Renee Reese, and brother-in-law, Tony Reese; his nephews, grandchildren, and a host of extended family across the Carolinas and beyond.
Robert enjoyed the beauty of God’s creation. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, finding joy in providing and in the peace of the outdoors. Yet his greatest joy was found in his faith. Robert loved Jesus Christ with all his heart, and his life was a testimony of God’s goodness and grace.
Those who knew him best will remember his strength, his humor, his generous spirit, and his unshakable faith. Robert’s presence was a blessing, his counsel a guiding light, and his legacy will live on in all who had the honor of knowing him.
