Winford Dail Phelps passed away unexpectedly on Father’s Day, June 21, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, a dedicated professional, and a man whose vibrant energy left an unforgettable mark on everyone he met throughout his journey.
Born on August 10, 1967, Dail carried a distinct, larger-than-life presence from an early age. As a young man, he answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Army. His time in the military instilled in him a deep sense of discipline, resilience, and a source of pride in his service—values that he carried forward into every single chapter of his life.
Following his military service, Dail built a foundation of hard work and steady reliability in his community. He dedicated approximately 30 years of his life to his career as a night crew manager at Albertsons. In this role, Dail was known not just for his strong work ethic and leadership, but for the steady commitment he showed to his team night after night. He was the anchor of his shift, a familiar and dependable face, and a colleague who could always be counted on to get the job done.
In 2018, Dail married his wife, Arcelia, and together they spent the last eight years building their home and life together in Las Vegas.
Dail was a loud, talkative, and animated person who naturally drew people in wherever he went. He was the kind of man who filled a room with his voice, always ready to share a story or engage in a lively conversation. Above all, Dail was a very kind man who truly meant well in everything he did. He loved to tell jokes, always in the heartfelt hope of brightening someone's day and bringing a smile to their face. He was a loyal, steadfast friend, a memorable figure in his local community, and a man who took great pride in living his life entirely on his own terms.
Nothing made Dail prouder than his family. He was most proud of his kids, always sharing their accomplishments to anyone who would listen, beaming with joy over every success they achieved. He is survived by his wife, Arcelia; his daughter, Estephanie; his son, Randall; his stepdaughter, Vanessa; and his grandson, Liam, whom he loved dearly and who brought immense light to his life.
Dail brought a vibrant, unmistakable energy to those he loved, and his absence leaves a space that cannot be filled. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his memory, his laughter, and his spirit remains completely unbroken in the hearts of his family and friends.
