About Us

Giddens Memorial Chapel is a first-generation family owned and operated funeral home. Raymond L. Giddens Jr. and Kyle L. Giddens are the proud sons of Raymond L. Sr. & Linda D. Giddens. Growing up in the church, Raymond and Kyle encountered the concept of death at an early age. Raymond remained quite fearful until he became a teenager. However, Kyle at a young age would go wandering around funeral homes when attending wakes and was quite comfortable with death. As kids, Raymond and Kyle were so intrigued over attending funerals that they created a funeral home with their Legos. As their father pursued his role as a minster and eventually pastor, he provided a foundation for Raymond and Kyle to explore their gifts in ministering to families who were grieving. Raymond and Kyle both enjoyed serving as ushers in church, passing out programs and consoling families. Kyle would uplift the families spirit through his spiritual gift in music.

As college years approached, Raymond had a desire to attend mortuary school, but chickened out. However, he was introduced to the field of social work and pursed both his bachelor’s and master's in social work; where he has been serving individuals and families in need. Kyle went on to pursue his passion in music engineering and music ministry, as he obtained his bachelors and master’s degrees. While working on his master’s degree in Texas, Kyle started working at Golden Gate Funeral Home as a musician and funeral attendant. The variety of duties and services he encountered, assisted in grooming him for a career and leadership in the funeral industry. During Raymond’s visits to Dallas, he and Kyle would often partner up to work services; thanks to the funeral home’s “ride along program.”  These experiences ignited Raymond to realize how much he enjoyed helping families through the grieving process. Being exposed to the prep room, Raymond finally got over his fear, and after much persuasion got Kyle to join him in attending Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. In the Fall of 2014, Raymond and Kyle completed their education to be a funeral director and an embalmer and soon applied for their state licenses in Texas and Nevada.

November 2017, the Giddens brothers humbly opened their funeral home doors to the Las Vegas community. The entire Giddens family and staff are extremely honored to serve you, not only in your time of grief, but through humanitarian efforts as well.
